Welcome to the Louis M. Klein Middle School Guidance Department. We are excited to assist in the educational, social, and emotional development of your child throughout his or her middle school years. We are committed to the district's mission of equity, access, rigor and adaptability for all.
Each student is assigned a school counselor when he/she enters the middle school. That counselor remains with your child as they move through grades 6, 7, and 8. This assures continuity of services and enables the counselor to establish a personal relationship with each student and their family. Additionally, this supports students as they make the transition to high school.
School counselors work at several levels of responsibility, serving as a resource to individual students, teachers, parents and guardians, and the school as a whole. A counselor is an advisor, a teacher, a problem solver, a listener, and a primary liaison who works with students and their families. Guidance services are provided to students indirectly through consultation with school staff, or directly to students in classrooms, groups, and individually. Counselors also work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and administrators in team meetings, at parent-teacher conferences, and in conjunction with other support services.
It is the goal of our guidance department to help each student maximize his or her personal, social, and academic potential. We assist them in navigating their way through the middle school experience in a lead up to the transition to high school and beyond.
Please feel free to contact us at any time concerning your son or daughter.

Welcome to the Harrison High School Guidance Department. We are excited to assist in the educational, social, emotional, college, and career development of your child throughout his or her high school years.
We believe that each student is an important, valued, developing, capable, and unique individual who will learn from experience and grow personally and educationally throughout adolescence. We are committed to the district's mission of equity, access, rigor and adaptability for all. All students' differences, strengths and special needs are considered in planning and implementing our school counseling program.
Our program reflects an integrated approach to helping students' individual and developmental needs. We believe helping students to understand themselves will assist them in making sound decisions and plans today and in their future.
Our specific services are delivered through individual and group counseling. We ensure students have opportunities to engage in academic advisement and multi-year planning, college and career advisement and social/personal development. We believe and make every effort to engage parents actively in the high school experience. It is our goal to ensure that every student "gets ready for, gets in, and gets through college and beyond."
We encourage you to partner with us so that each student is best served. Please do not hesitate to contact us for support and guidance or to call on us to act as a liaison between home and school.
