The Art Club
The mission of the Art Club is to encourage participation in the visual arts. With this in mind, we hope to beautify and create a sense of unity throughout the school by creating murals and other public art works, hosting school wide activities, providing extended art studio hours and opportunities to show and exhibit student artwork, and broaden student knowledge of working artists, careers in the arts, and art history with trips to museums and galleries.
Business Club
The mission of the Business Club is:
To help students focus on careers and opportunities after high school.
To provide scholarships to seniors in the Business Club.
To provide students the opportunity to visit different types of businesses.
To provide students the opportunity to compete in a state competition.
Cable Television Club
The Harrison High School Cable Television Club produces television programs that are broadcast over the school district's cable television station, Channel 74. Students participate in all aspects of television production: announcing, camera operation, audio mixing, lighting, script writing, producing, directing and editing. Programming includes the high school's news magazine show, Focus on Harrison; talk shows, concerts, plays, and sporting events. All students with an interest in the media arts are encouraged to participate in the club.
Color Guard
The color guard is a section of the marching band that incorporates synchronized spinning of flags, rifles, and other equipment with dance movements to enhance the visual appeal of a marching band show. The color guard performs throughout the year at football games, parades, and in competition (both with the band and independently). They also go on the annual band trip, and have traveled throughout the country to perform and compete. Practices are held after school twice a week, in addition to rehearsals with the band during football season.
Computer Science Club
The computer science club meets 3 to 4 times a month, and we prepare American Computer Science League‘s(www.acsl.org) contests. These contests test programming and electrical engineering concepts not taught in the classroom .
Debate Club
The Harrison debate team participates in Lincoln-Douglas debate (more commonly known as “LD”), a one-on-one, competitive event in which high school students debate propositions of value - that is, topics of ethical/moral importance. Recent resolutions have concerned issues as diverse as military conscription, international criminal courts, and felons’ voting rights; this year's topics include the morality of civil disobedience and the ethics of compulsory immunization in the face of public health concerns. As a team, we meet at least once a week to engage in topic analysis, research and evidence-cutting, case construction, note-taking drills, practice rounds, and rebuttal drills. The team’s goal is to provide a supportive environment in which students can learn, practice, and master the skills necessary for competitive success.
Fashion Club
The Harrison High School Fashion Club is designed to promote extracurricular involvement and serve as a valuable resource for students interested in pursuing a career in fashion. Through involvement in this club students will have an opportunity to showcase their talents and potentially receive scholarships and rewards from F.I.D.M., a renowned fashion institute in California. The club plans on having a variety of guest speakers, such as real fashion designers, current fashion students from F.I.T. and those involved behind the scenes of the high paced fashion world. As a culminating event, the club will put on a Spring Fashion Show so that they display their work to the community.
Film and Photo Club
Film and Photo Club was created for those who are interested in photography and film. The goal of our club is to further our knowledge of these two areas. We are interested in hosting film showings, photo shoots and exhibits. In this way we are experiencing the relationship between the art of film and photography.
FOG (Followers of God)
FOG is a club open to all religions and denominations. The club provides a welcoming environment where students can explore their religious identity.
Footlight Players (Drama and Musical)
The Footlight Players is Harrison High School's theatrical club. The Footlight Players are comprised of actors, singers, and dancers who produce both a fall drama and a spring musical. The Footlight Players club is open to all students from grades 9-12. Past productions have included "The Odd Couple (Female Version)" ('06),"Aida" ('07), "Miss Saigon" ('08), "Beauty and the Beast" ('09), "The Heiress" ('09), and "Footloose" ('10).
General Organization (aka G.O. or Student Government)
The Student Government of Harrison High School is the official body representing the students of Harrison High School. Every student at the high school is a member of the Student Government. The Student Government exists for the promotion of responsible participation in community affairs, to promote and aid extra-curricular dispensing of funds, to represent the students to the Administration of the school and other community officials, to provide a forum for debate on issues which concern the student body, and to defend and uphold the rights of the students of Harrison High School.

H2T2P (Harrison High Troupe of Traveling Performers)
The Harrison Troupe of Traveling Performers (H2T2P) is a student organization dedicated to producing student initiated theatrical projects. Plays are chosen and directed by students. In the past, the club has produced such plays as The Laramie Project, Doubt and Faustus.
Habitat for Humanity
The purpose of the club is to get students at Harrison High School involved in Habitat, building and fixing up houses for the needy in our local area. The club is to act as a liaison between the participating students of HHS and the Habitat for Humanity Westchester, NY. We are currently in the process of recruiting members and are in the planning stages of hosting a build with the HHS Varsity Club.
Husky Herald (School Newspaper)
Our mission is to be the voice of Harrison High School by professionally representing and informing our school with an accurate and entertaining newspaper, both online and in print. The Husky Herald is published by the journalism classes at Harrison High School. Editorial content of The Husky Herald reflects the opinions of the editors and staff, not necessarily that of the Harrison High School faculty and administration. The staff of The Husky Herald encourages students to get involved and have their opinions heard.
International Club
The purpose of the Harrison International Club is promote a broader sense of internationalism in all of its facets, including but not limited to those components of culture that speak to food, art, literature, music, dance, and current events. The centerpiece event of the club is an International Dinner whereby students and the community can actively participate in sharing and exploring authentic gastronomy representing a wide array of different cultures. Other activities include field trips to various museums, plays, and other multicultural events. Recently, members of the International Club visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City where students were exposed to art of international acclaim. Soon, the International Club will be organizing a trip to New York City to see In the Heights, a musical that centers on Hispanic culture in the city. Parents are encouraged to contact either Dana Columbus or Jon Veenis for more information or to find out how they may participate in club events.
Italian Club
The Italian club is a group that celebrates Italian culture and heritage by organizing events such as Italian card games and a soccer tournament which is open to all students at HHS. We hope you might choose to stop by. We are in the process of assembling an Italian feast. Boun Appetito!
Kids for World Health
Students raise awareness about neglected diseases that affect teenagers all over the world. In addition to educating others and ourselves about the diseases the club also raises money to aid the Kids For World Health Organization.
Latin Club
The Latin Club is a classical association and a member of the National Junior Classical League. The primary goal of the Latin Club is to encourage students to develop an appreciation for ancient Roman culture and tradition. This glimpse into the past provides the students with a fuller, richer view of the present. The members of the club participate in various activities such as field trips after school and on weekends. The students also participate in the International Night at Harrison.
Math Team
The Harrison High School Math Team is a good place to learn problem solving skills, and the world needs people who can solve problems. We compete against schools across the state in the New York Mathematics League – a series of six contests throughout the school year. We also compete in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC). High performing students on the AMC may qualify for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME), the US Mathematical Olympiad, and the International Mathematical Olympiad.
Mock Trial
The Mock Trial team represents Harrison High School in New York’s Statewide Mock Trial Competition, sponsored by the New York Bar Association. At competition, team members play the roles of attorneys and witnesses. Student attorneys make opening and closing statements, as well as direct and cross-examine witnesses, just as they would an actual trial. Student witnesses fully assume the role of one of the characters in the case and take the stand at trial. Both attorneys and witnesses are judged by practicing New York State attorneys and judges.
Model Congress
Model Congress gives students a chance to engage in a role-playing simulation of the United States Congress. Model Congress is a club that participates in academic competitions at institutions of higher learning. Such competitions consist of a bicameral legislature, as in the Congress. Members can be on any of the Senate or House committees, or, in larger model congresses, these, as well as a Supreme Court simulation, a press crew that reports on the Congress, or the Executive Committee, which is the Cabinet and the President.
Events that this club participates in allow students who might not otherwise meet to work together and to help educate the rest of the student body about global affairs and real problems in their country. It also brings together people who share differing political views. It affords a unique opportunity for students to learn about the legislative process as a mechanism for developing solutions to problems of national and global concern.
ROTOY (Reaching Out To Our Youth)
ROTOY is a service organization at the high school. ROTOY volunteers provide free after school tutoring for students in any of our elementary schools that request our help.
Peer Leaders
Peer Leaders is a service oriented organization at the high school. Current 11th and 12th graders who are peer leaders facilitate mentoring group meetings with the freshman class, assist in special events like Husky Day, student orientations, college day, parent-teacher night, LMK Wellness Day(s), new student tours.
SADD (Student Against Destructive Decisions)
To provide students with the best prevention tools possible to deal with the issues of underage drinking, other drug use, impaired driving and other destructive decisions. ADD is a peer-to-peer education, prevention, and activism organization dedicated to preventing destructive decisions, particularly underage drinking, other drug use, risky and impaired driving, teen violence, and teen suicide. Its membership is inclusive and not exclusive
The Harrison Tech Crew
Harrison Tech Crew is a group of highly trained and inquisitive students who run the technical aspects of the Harrison Performing Arts Center (HPAC) through all in school and out-of-district performances.
Swing Band
Swing Band is an organization dedicated to the authentic performance of ensemble jazz music. We perform a large and varied repertoire of big band and jazz ensemble compositions designed to provide the member students with a broad experience with jazz styles. We listen to and share our favorite artists and performances, and play for festivals, concerts, and special events. We also have a lot of fun!
Varsity Club
The Varsity Club is exclusive to Varsity athletes, who are in good academic standing, and demonstrate the highest level of sportsmanship on and off their chosen playing venue. Athletes will have the opportunity to promote all athletic events to the school and local community, as well as participate in a variety of student chosen fundraisers and events. The Varsity club will meet on Tuesday afternoons from 2:40 - 2:55 (in order to allow for students to attend practice/games), on a bi-weekly basis.
Youth Volunteers of Harrison (YVH)
YVH is the Community Service and Action club at HHS and is responsible for developing new charitable opportunities as well as coordinating traditional activities such as food drives, clothing drives.
