Congratulations to the members of the Harrison High School Class of 2017 whose outstanding academic achievements have earned them one of the cum laude distinctions. Seven years ago, the students of Harrison High School worked with the administrators and Board of Education members to develop a system that would not only reward the school’s valedictorian and salutatorian but a tiered system of honors as determined by a student’s cumulative weighted grade-point average.
The results were three levels of distinction: Summa Cum Laude (with highest praise) for students earning a 98.00 or higher; Magna Cum Laude (with great praise) for students earning a 95.00-97.99; and Cum Laude (with praise) for students earning a 93.00-94.99.
