In an annual event, Harrison fifth graders across the District converge on Harrison High School for a day of physical activity intertwined with team building and school spirit – the hallmarks of Harrison Husky Day.
The Harrison Central School District's physical education teachers from the four elementary schools, Louis M. Klein Middle School, and Harrison High School have planned an elaborate circuit of activities. The fifth graders are divided into “teams” – helping to mix the students who are from four schools but will soon become one school. In order to complete the tasks, the students must communicate, collaborate, and accomplish as one cohesive unit.
The students arrive in their color-coded shirts and are greeted by the HHS Marching Band percussionists. The day also allows the fifth graders the opportunity to see the high school up close and truly feel the sense of community.
Harrison's fifth graders are jumping for joy about starting middle school with their new "teams"!
