HHS DECA Club Attends The Business in Sports Day at MetLife Stadium

Members of the Harrison High School DECA Club attended the Business in Sports Day held at MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, New Jersey.  Harrison had 47 members attend this unique learning experience and were one of 45 schools in attendance.

The Conference provided high school students the opportunity to learn about the diverse opportunities the sports world can offer.  One of the important messages that was conveyed to the students was that every business needs artists, writers, mathematicians and that all of the business areas of Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Advertising, Web Development and Graphic Design intertwine.

The executives for the New York Jets organization also stressed the importance of engaging in internships to build skills and students should emphasize and use their strengths. The students were able to ask questions of the executives about their roles within the organization as well as their trajectory in gaining their positions.

The Harrison High School students also had the opportunity to see many of the suites, the Jets locker room and to go onto the football field.
