Varsity Baseball Team on the Move with Three Shut Outs

The Harrison Varsity Baseball Team posted three impressive wins over the past two weekends at games honoring two former Huskies baseball players: Dave Basso and Andrew Gurgitano.

The Harrison Huskies are this year’s Dave Basso Tournament Champions.  The Huskies took on White Plains in the first round, the beating them 2-0.  Jimmy Horvath pitched a complete game shutout against the Tigers with 9 strikeouts.  Harrison took on Valhalla in the championship game, for a 5-0 win.  Greg Lucien pitched a complete game shutout.

The next weekend, Harrison took on the Rye Garnets at the 5th Annual Andrew Gurgitano Memorial Game. Harrison pulled ahead  and held a 1-0 lead from a single by Brendan McGurk that scored Anthony Gjokaj. Vin Corso pitched complete game shutout with 8 strikeouts, and gave up only 3 hits.

All three wins were impressive team efforts and a great display of sportsmanship and Husky Pride.
