Excitement is already building for the Annual Harrison-Rye game, which will be held this year on Sunday, October 1 at 1:30pm at Harrison High School’s McGillicuddy Field. Click here for information regarding the game, ticket sales, code of conduct, and parking. The team, led by captains Zef Djurasevic, Austin Evans, Quinn Perini & Mike Rozell, is off to a 2-1 start. Outstanding play on offense over the first three games includes seniors Austin Evans, Brett Silber and Raymond Sanchez and juniors Frank Nannariello Alejandro Aguirre, D’Andre Cosby, and Justin Altamuro. There has been Impressive play on the other side of the ball as well as special teams with a pick six from Rozell and a fumble recovery for a score by Altamuro.
The Girls Varsity Soccer team began the season on a 4-0 run. The team have come up against the top teams in the Section in Rye and Pearl River with strong showings that will only build as they head into the middle section of their season. Many of the Huskies have contributed goals in the seven games they have played so far: Haley Aman, Amelia Fischer, Cara Traficante, Mikayla Tucci, Jeannine Eljimar, Julina Paruta, and Athanasia Meimeteas. Lauren Unterreiner and Araceli McFadden have been outstanding in goal.
After finding their footing in the early goings of the season, The HHS Boys Varsity Soccer team played to a scorless Overtime tie against perennial powerhouse Byram Hills. Since that game, the team has won three in a row with victories over Rye and Pelham. In true team spirit, The Hammer is awarded to great contributor at the end of every game. Game changers this season have been Mark Hlusko, Chris DiRusso, Sam Glaser, Danny Cabera, Ish Galvez, and Christian Ivezaj.
