he Harrison High School Girls Varsity Soccer team was seeded #8 and played an extremely close game against #9 Pelham on McGillicuddy Field Saturday, October 21. Cara Traficante, on an assist by Ava Judelson, scored with 20 minutes remaining in the game to tie it 1-1. The Huskies played into Overtime, ultimately losing 3-1. The Boys Varsity Soccer team also played a tough outbracket match against Ardsley, losing 2-1 to close out their season. Congratulations on a great Varsity Fall season.
The HHS Varsity Football team continued their playoff run on October 20th when they traveled to #2 Our Lady of Lourdes High School for the quarterfinal playoff of the Section 1 Class A Tournament. Lourdes took a quick 21-0 lead in the first half, but the Huskies battled back! In the second quarter, Frank Nanniarello threw to Alejandro Aquirre for the first Harrison score of the night to make it 21-6. Before the end of the half, D'Andre Cosby ran for a 25 yard touchdown and the team made the two-point conversion to make it 21-14. The Huskies cam out of halftime with something to prove. Austin Evans scored from 15 yards out to tie the game at 21-21. Unfortunately, Lourdes showed why they were the #2 seed, scoring two additional touchdowns. Alejandro Aguirre made a spectacular catch and run for 73 yards to pull the Huskies to 25-28. The final score was 49-28. The Huskies will play in Week 9 against Tappan Zee at McGillicuddy Stadium on Friday, October 27 at 7pm to close out the season.
