Congratulations to the members of the Harrison High School Class of 2018 whose outstanding academic achievements have earned them one of the cum laude distinctions. Several years ago, the students of Harrison High School worked with the administrators and Board of Education members to develop a system that would not reward only the school’s valedictorian and salutatorian but rather a tiered system of honors as determined by a student’s cumulative weighted grade-point average.
The results were three levels of distinction: Summa Cum Laude (with highest praise) for students earning a 98.00 or higher; Magna Cum Laude (with great praise) for students earning a 95.00-97.99; and Cum Laude (with praise) for students earning a 93.00-94.99.
