Harrison Huskies Compete at State Championships this Spring Season



Congratulations to Ian Santiago, Robert Blue, Luke Steinthal, and Brian Aslanian who represented Harrison High School in their respective sports at New York State Championships this season.

Junior Brian Aslanian finished in third place and senior Luke Steinthal finished in a three way tie for 7th place at the Section 1 Individual Championships to earn the right to compete at the New York State Championships at the Cornel Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Ithaca, New York on June 4th and 5th.  The two were also Captains of the HHS Boys Golf team that won the League and Conference titles, while finishing in second place in Section 1.

At the New York State Qualifying meet, junior Robert Blue finished as the Section 1 Triple Jump Champion in 1st place and senior Ian Santiago finished in second place to advance to the New York State Track and Field Championships, held June 9-10 at Union-Endicott High School.

Robert finished in 4th place in the Division 1 competition, earning him the right to compete in the Federation meet the next day where he finished in 6th place.

Also at the State Qualifier meet, senior Ellery Rajagopal broke the school’s 19-year-old record in the 800m, finishing in fourth place.  Although the top two advance to the State meet, Harrison had many athletes finish in the top 6 of their respective events:
