Harrison Avenue Elementary School’s fourth graders donned their tri-corner hats and Puritan aprons and bonnets and engaged in hands-on learning set in Colonial times. The students have been learning about those residents who settled in New York during the Colonial era and by dressing in period costume and engage in activities outside the conventional classroom, they were able to bring such education and entertainment to life.

The day included many of the cultural activities of the time period such as music and art.  Students also learned about indoor and outdoor games that occupied their afternoons and evenings and brought families and communities closer together.
