Business Program

The Harrison Central School District's Business Department, at Harrison High School, supports students self-selecting enrollment in the most challenging classes and expects every member of the learning community to continually adapt to meet the evolving needs of the business world. We provide students with a rich array of opportunities, from introduction-level classes to courses that allow students to earn college credits, to an IB-level course. We give students the opportunity to cultivate talents and realize successes in and out of the classroom. The Business Department embraces high performance standards focused on continuous improvement on behalf of the students we serve, and prepares students for college and career readiness.

Whether our students plan to work and lead in a local or a global business, their experience can begin with a Money Management elective for freshmen and sophomores. Our Foundations in Business course prepares students for the rigor of advanced study. Students can take up to three (3) courses for college credit through Westchester Community College: College Financial Accounting, College Entrepreneurship, and College Marketing. An International Baccalaureate (IB) course in Business and Management is offered for juniors and seniors.

Our program is based on the New York State Learning Standards for Career Development and Occupational Studies: Career Development; Integrated Learning; Universal Foundation Skills; and Career Majors.
