About HCSD Arts

HCSD's Fine and Performing Arts Department affords all students the opportunity to study music, visual art, dance, and theatre, providing every child with experiences that promote life-long participation and enjoyment of the arts. We embrace the cooperative work of parents, teachers, students, and the community, and are invested in a collaborative approach to support student development and success.

About HCSD Athletics

The Harrison Athletics program is built on the principles of Rigor, Development, Communication, and Accountability. Harrison coaches work to develop programs based on communication, clear expectations, ongoing feedback, accountability and developing self-advocacy in our student athletes. We are committed to meeting the standards of high expectation and maximum effort on and off the field.

NYSSMA Information

NYSSMA stands for New York State School Music Association. Each year, NYSSMA provides all music students the opportunity to prepare a solo and perform it at the annual spring festival to receive adjudicated feedback from a New York State music- certified judge. Performing at the solo festival then opens up the opportunities for students to audition and/or qualify for such festivals as All County, Area All State, and All State in Rochester.

If you would like your child to take advantage of participating in NYSSMA, please keep a look out for information from and/or contact your school music teacher. Only the school music teacher (not a private instructor) may register students for NYSSMA.

Information for the 2026 Spring Solo Festivals:

Piano Festival	April 10^th& 11^th at Walter Panas High School (Lakeland)
Strings 1-4 (& harp/guitar) Festival (No 5-6 or All-State)	April 24^th & 25^th at Springhurst Elementary School (Dobbs Ferry)
Down-County Festival (No strings 1-4, No piano)	May 8^th & 9^th at Louis M Klein Middle School (Harrison)
