COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for Students Ages 5-11
The Harrison Central School District is partnering with White Plains Hospital to host a free, voluntary COVID-19 vaccine clinic for students ages 5 to 11 on Monday, November 22, 5:00 pm to 7:15 pm at Harrison High School. The 200 available time slots are now almost full. To see if appointments are available, CLICK HERE. We realize that not every interested parent/guardian may have been able to schedule an appointment, and we are working to schedule additional opportunities to offer the vaccine in the near future.
WCDOH Allows Test Out of Quarantine
As of November 22, 2021, Westchester County has put a temporary hold on the provision that would allow people who have had exposure to COVID-19 to test out of quarantine. The District will continue to monitor guidance from Westchester County and provide updates as they become available.
This guidance on hold until further notice: On November 12, 2021, the Westchester County Department of Health issued updated guidance that allows individuals who have had exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 to test out of quarantine. To test out of quarantine, the exposed person would need to receive a negative PCR test on or after day 5 of quarantine and remain symptom free until day 7. The negative PCR test results must be provided to WCDOH before the person is released from quarantine. Contact your school nurse for more information.
NYSDOH Guidance for Vaccine Reactions
NYSDOH recently published the following guidance to explain possible reactions to the COVID-19 vaccine and the steps to be followed:
COVID 19 Cases & Quarantines
COVID-19 Cumulative Testing Results
The District has begun voluntary weekly COVID-19 testing for a representative sample of students in each school. Testing a representative sample of students each week will limit the spread of COVID-19 and ensure schools remain open for in-person instruction.
