Registration for Summer Learning & Enrichment Now Open!
This summer the Harrison Central School District is offering a wide range of creative and engaging learning opportunities for students to address challenges faced this past year and prepare them to thrive in the coming school year. The District will offer summer learning and enrichment opportunities designed by Harrison teachers for Harrison students with a focus on strengthening academic readiness, creativity, engagement, and inquiry. These offerings are supported in part by Federal Recovery Act funds.
Summer programs are offered to students entering grades 1 to 12 and grouped into two categories:
Enrichment Programs (open to all students): These programs offer engaging enrichment opportunities designed to enhance skills and content knowledge, explore an interest, and develop peer relationships that will support success in school.
Academic Programs (by invitation): These programs are offered to targeted student groups. Parents of students who are eligible to participate in the academic programs by invitation will be contacted by email with more information. Academic programs by invitation include:
Extension programs for students needing additional academic support in the humanities and mathematics based upon multiple measures of academic readiness
Orientation programs for students who are entering a new school or are enrolling in the IB Diploma Program at Harrison High School
Preparation programs for students entering select IB or AP courses or working on their college essay
English Language Learner programs for students who need support developing proficiency in English
Credit Recovery programs for students who need to retake one or more classes to earn required credits for high school graduation
The District continues to focus on providing a wide range of opportunities to support the intellectual, social and emotional learning of our students. I encourage you to take advantage of the more than 80 learning and enrichment opportunities available to students this summer.
