Harrison High School Named School of Distinction

Harrison High School was named a School of Distinction by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). This recognition comes as a result of every Harrison Husky varsity team earning Scholar Athlete status for the fall 2021 season. To receive Scholar-Athlete team recognition, the team’s average GPA for 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90.00. The Girls Soccer and Field Hockey teams earned the additional honor of each athlete having over a 90% quarter one GPA.

According to the NYSPHSAA website, “At the end of each sports season, the NYSPHSAA honors those teams and individuals that excel in the classroom. Those student-athletes, teams, and schools work very hard throughout the year and deserve to be recognized for their academic success.”

Harrison Athletic Director, Chris Galano acknowledged the fortitude of the Harrison student athletes, “This type of athletic and academic success is what sets us apart and is the foundation of our program.”
