HCSD Celebrates Faculty Receiving Tenure
Seventeen members of the Harrison Central School District learning community were recognized at the annual Tenure Celebration held at the Performing Arts Center at Harrison High School. Members of the Board of Education, District leadership team, colleagues and family joined to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of the newly tenured faculty.
Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Wool welcomed all gathered in the HPAC for the celebratory occasion, describing the evening as a moment to “pause and reflect on the great work taking place in our classrooms.” Dr. Wool also shared the rigorous process for granting tenure in Harrison, recognizing those who receive tenure as exemplary.
School principals shared reflections about how each educator brings the District’s mission to life in the lives of students, and described them as collaborators who are committed to delivering rigorous and responsive experiences to our students.
Dr. Wool closed the evening by reflecting on the powerful role teachers play in the lives of children, and reminded those in attendance that helping children to see themselves as valued and important has lasting, life-long impact. The evening concluded with a celebration in the Student Union.
Congratulations to the members of our learning community who have earned tenure!
