Musicians Audition for NYSSMA Festivals

The New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) sponsors festivals across New York state each year. Students qualify to participate in the festivals by completing a performance evaluation for a panel of judges. The evaluation involves playing a graded solo from the NYSSMA Manual, playing scales and sight reading. The selection process for the festival is rigorous; HCSD student musicians practiced and refined their performances, and prepared video recordings of their performance for an adjudicator to evaluate. The feedback will guide our student musicians to continue to develop and refine their performance skills. We are proud of their growth and effort. Best of luck to all!
