HHS Symphonic Winds Perform at Carnegie Hall
The Harrison High School Symphonic Winds performed at Carnegie Hall where they played works by Nishimura, Standridge, Ziek, and Williams. Members of Symphonic Winds collaborated in rehearsals, student led sectionals, and through constructive critical listening sessions. The trip to NYC also included a clinic renowned band pedague Dr. Timothy Mahr, professor of bands at St. Olaf College. Dr. Mahr shared helpful feedback and after the performance called the HHS ensemble his "new favorite band." Symphonic Winds president Jake Robinson refelected on the experience, “the entire ensemble was shocked when we first heard that we would be playing at Carnegie Hall, but through hard work and determination, we put on a spectacular show and played our hearts out.”
