Most Successful DECA Season in Team History; Eleven Students Qualify for Nationals
The Harrison High School DECA Business Team posted a record-breaking performance at the 65th New York State DECA competition. More than 3,000 students from across New York State attended, the largest attendance in program history. Students participated in competitions including written exams, live-action role-plays, workshops, and meetings over three days. The competition was intense and the schedule was challenging, but Team Harrison surpassed previous levels of success and raised the bar and expectations for the future. This year Harrison sent an unprecedented 68 students to the competition, and received many awards. A school record eleven students finished in the top five of their events, and qualified for the National DECA Competition (ICDC) later this year; an additional twelve students finished in the top ten.
