Students from Harrison High School attended Sports in Business Day, sponsored by the NY Jets football team held in MetLife Stadium. The event was attended by nearly 1,000 students from the tristate area.  The goal of the program was to introduce students to the business side of sports; and students learned about various parts of the sports business such as sponsorships, endorsements, sales, and building relationships.

Students met with team executives and had the opportunity to ask questions of the Manager of Group Sales, a sports reporter, the Director of Client Relations, the Director of Premium Partnerships, several sales representatives, along with the Director of Ticket Operations, and the Senior Manager of Player Development. Students also toured MetLife Stadium and saw parts of the stadium not typically open to the general public, including locker rooms, lounges and suites, and the Coaches Club. Each speaker emphasized the importance of performing at a high level in the classroom as well as gaining “real-world” experiences when the opportunity arises.

Sports in Business Day concluded with an opportunity to also walk on the MetLife Stadium football field where the NY Jets play.
