Blood Donation Leave Time
New York State law entitles public school district employees who work at least twenty (20) hours per week to take up to three (3) hours of unpaid leave per school year for the purpose of donating blood.
An absence reason for "blood donation" has been added to AESOP, and the District will require employees who take unpaid leave to donate blood to provide documentation to the Office of Human Resources in the form of an Attending Physician Statement, indicating that the leave time was used for this purpose. Click here to access the Attending Physician Statement.When creating the absence in AESOP, be sure to select "AM" or "PM" to indicate that the appointment is in the morning or the afternoon.
