June 2: HHS Principal's Message

Dear HHS Families,

I am happy to report Groundhog Day is coming to end!  With the Superintendent’s announcement that the last day of school will be June 16th, the end of our school year comes closer into view.

As you recall from an earlier letter, the main character in the film Groundhog Day eventually realizes that EVERY action matters.   We believe each and every action matters for our students now more than ever. Our end-of-the-year celebrations are a reflection of disbelief. Please join us for these culminating experiences that celebrate and recognize our students:

  • The Science Symposium  launched last night. You will be inspired as students in our Science Research Program showcase remarkable talent and ingenuity in their research and projects.
  • The Spring Play You Can’t Take it With You will stream on June 5th, 6th and 7th.  More information on viewing this truly unique event will follow!
  • Our virtual Physics Extravaganza is presented by Physics seniors to fourth grade students in our elementary schools on June 9th & 10th.
  • A virtual Writers Among Us will be posted on the District website.
  • Virtual Relay For Life of Harrison is on June 4th to 6th! Check out the  Harrison Relay For Life Instagram & Facebook pages, and the American Cancer Society Lower Hudson Valley Youtube channel for updates, information, and videos.

High school, District leadership, HHS PTA, and senior class officers continue planning ways to recognize the Class of 2020 with end-of-year celebrations.  Finalized information will follow later this week.

  • Senior Cap and Gown Distribution is June 9th and June 10th. We have planned special activities that will be memorable celebrations for our seniors. The event will include lots of Pomp and Circumstance.
  • The Virtual Senior Athletic Awards ceremony can be viewed beginning 7 pm on June 11th on the HHS homepage & HCSD Athletics page.
