About HCSD Athletics

The Harrison Athletics program is built on the principles of Rigor, Development, Communication, and Accountability. Harrison coaches work to develop programs based on communication, clear expectations, ongoing feedback, accountability and developing self-advocacy in our student athletes. We are committed to meeting the standards of high expectation and maximum effort on and off the field.

Facilities Related Notifications

Asbestos Plan

The DIstrict is obligated to disclose the presence of asbestos containing materials (ACM) located in areas of our schools. These ACM currently pose no threat to the health and safety of our students and staff.

There is an asbestos plan that identifies where all ACM is located. These plans are located in each building with the Head Custodian, as well as the Facilities Office at LMK Middle School. Most schools over 20 years old contain asbestos building materials, i.e. floor tile, mastic (adhesive), ceiling tile, etc. We inspect the condition of these floors every six months. We are also required to conduct a tri-annual inspection through an independent licensed consultant and make any required updates to the plan per the consultant's findings.

Pesticide Spraying

For several years, the district has been involved in an Integrated Pest Management
(IPM) program in accordance with New York State Education Department regulations. The Pesticide Notification Law requires the district to form a registry of any student, parent, or staff member who wishes to receive written notification 48 hours prior to a regulated pesticide application. Individuals may request that their names be added to the school registry at any time during the school year. Please be aware that in a case of emergency, we may not be able to provide 48-hour notice.

Notice of Annual Fire Inspection Reports

NOTICE IS HEREBY given that the annual fire safety inspections, conducted each school year for each of the six Harrison CSD school buildings, for fire hazards which might endanger the lives of students, teachers, and employees therein has been completed. The report is available for inspection by all interested parties by contacting the Director of Facilities at 50 Union Ave, Harrison, NY 10528 or by calling 914-630-3020.
